| Land Rover Announces 2008 G4 Challenge | |
The Land Rover G4 Challenge is back for 2008-2009. This will be the third G4 Challenge, following successful events in 2003 and 2006. This event is promise to be bigger and better than its predecessors. According to the Media Information released by Land Rover, the G4 Challenge is an exciting global adventure competition... combining off-road driving with activities such as mountain biking, kayaking, climbing, orienteering and abseiling, pitching competitor teams against each other in tests of driving skill, initiative, strategic thinking and physical fitness. Teams of two competitors from each of the 18 entered nations will compete for victory. The Challenge Finals take place in some of the world’s truly spectacular urban and wilderness locations. The Challenge is designed to be exciting, engaging and inspiring, and runs in support of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. These environmental and humanitarian commitments will ensure that the 2008/09 Land Rover G4 Challenge leaves nothing behind but a positive lasting legacy. This Competition will include teams from Australia, Austria, Belgium/Luxembourg, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden/Norway, Turkey, UK and the US. | The New 2008 Jaguar XK Sport-car Performance meets Luxury | |

The new XK Coupe, previously known as the XK8, was given a redesign in 2007. The 2008 XK model is a combination of luxury, comfort, great styling and hi-tech gadgetry. This comes with a 4.2 liter V8 engine and 6-speed transmission. The XK coupe offers exceptional handling, redesigned interior with a choice of aluminum or wood inserts, unique exterior styling design to capture the essence of the original XK. It also has new touch screen technology that adorns the center of the dash enhancing any Sunday Drive. The USA Today says "gorgeous machine that's at ease cruising the boulevards, running errands and charging under hard throttle,". With a base price of $75,500 the New York Times calls the Jaguar "the sexiest sport car under $100,000." The XK is also sold as a Convertible and the more performance geared XKR. | A Couple of Handy S-type Tech Tips | |

Here are a couple of Tips for the Jaguar S-type, these may save you hours of headaches, and maybe a few dollars as well.
1. There is a unit called a CATS unit in the trunk of an S-type. It's part of the traction control system and will trigger a warning light when the unit gets wet due to a trunk seal leak... which is also becoming very common on the S-types apparently. This comes directly from a technician at one of the Jag dealers. If the CATS or Traction Control light comes on in an S-type... check the trunk seal first, it may need to be replaced. 2. S-type customers complaining that the trunk will not open from the dash or remote control. Check the valet switch in the glove box. |
